Practice Schedule Reminder
The band will practice 3:30-5:00 each Monday and 3:30-6:00 on Tuesday and Thursday. During the week of contest, the band will practice 3:30-6:00 Monday-Thursday. All students are expected to be at all rehearsals and performances.
Fall Contest Announced
The Georgia Bridgemen will be in competition twice this fall and need a strong presence to support our students! The first contest is the 17th Annual Heart of Georgia Marching Band Invitational on October 4th. It will be held in Warner Robins, GA at McConnell-Talbert Stadium. This will be the end of a long day that begins with the band marching in the Annual Hahira Honeybee Parade at noon. See travel plan below. Exact parade uniform will be annouced on Thursday. The very next Saturday, (October 11th) the Bridgemen will be participating in the 21st Annual Hurricane Pride Invitational Marching Band Festival being held at Citrus High School in Inverness, Florida. This event is similar to our own Battle on the Border, with a preliminaries/finals format, so once again be prepared for a long day. The GA Bridgemen perform at 4:00 in prelims. Finals begin at 7:30 and the last competing band performs at 9:45. Awards begin at 10:30PM. For a complete schedule for that contest, please click HERE!.

GA Bridgemen to Raffle Golf Cart
The Lowndes High GA Bridgemen will be selling raffle tickets for the opportunity to win a custom built golf cart! Each week during football season watch for the cart to make its appearance during halftime! Tickets are only $5 and the drawing will be held Friday, November 7th at halftime. Tickets go on sale August 22nd! If you are interested in displaying the golf cart and selling tickets during the week at your business, please contact Matt Hart.
Washington DC/NYC INFO
We were required to send a non-refundable payment of $250 per person to our tour company in early September. By then each person on the trip must have made two payments that total $300. Anyone that was not at this level has been removed from the trip. This allows us to stay on our schedule and not risk losing some of our attractions that require deposits. As a remidner, anyone that elects to not participate in the trip after we have made payments on their behalf, that those monies are non-refundable.

WHAT DO I NEED FOR TODAY?
* Dressed in full uniform (no white jackets, you get your hat when we arrive in Moultrie)
* $10 cash to give to my bus chaperone for snacks and drinks throughout the year
* Instrument, if not on semi (flutes, clarinets, alto saxes, trumpets)
4:30 – Buses Stage in Student Parking Lot
4:55 – Buses move to the Front of the School
5:00 – Begin Loading and Roll Call
5:15 – Depart LHS
6:15 – Arrive at Moultrie
7:30 – Kickoff
Saturday, October 4th, Honeybee Parade/Heart of Georgia Competition
WHAT DO I NEED FOR TODAY?
* Show up to school in parade outfit-Gray Bridgemen Shirt, Blue Jeans.
* In your Bridgemen bag all parts of your uniform, shoes and gloves
* Your instrument (make sure it is on bus from night before)
* $6 cash for dinner
10:00 – Buses stage in student parking lot.
10:15 – All Baritone, Mellophones, Low Reeds will need to arrive in the student parking lot to unload their instruments from the semi.
10:30 – Begin to Load Students on buses and take roll. You will need your instrument in hand (like we did at Southern Open), grey t-shirt, blue jeans/shorts on. In your Bridgemen bag you should have your band uniform and gloves.
10:45 – Depart LHS
12:00 – Parade Begins
12:30 – Once we arrive back at HMS, all students will put instruments in cases and load their instruments. If your instrument goes on the bus, please take on bus and put in the case. We will them meet in the HMS cafeteria for lunch. You are allowed to change to more comfortable clothes for the bus ride.
2:00 – Depart for Warner Robins
4:30 – Arrive at 1st Methodist Church to change into uniforms
5:30 – Arrive at Warner Robins Contest
6:45 – Warm-Up
7:40 – Performance
8:50 – Awards
Midnight – Arrive back at LHS
